Tracing Obama's Roots {8 Days / 9 Nights}

Day 1:- Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive Nairobi Airport on board your flight. Met and greeted with our 'traditional welcome style and escorted to Nairobi Safari Club by APTDC Staff. This evening, a safari briefing is conducted by your tour manager in readiness for your upcoming safari, Overnight, Norfolk Hotel [Bed & Breakfast].

Day 2: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast you will be taken to L. Nakuru National Park to arrive in time for lunch. L. Nakuru is in the Rift Valley and is world famous as an Ornithological paradise. Sometimes upto 2 million flamingos can be seen around the lake. Other animals to be seen here include the big four (Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard). L. Nakuru is also a sanctuary for the endangered black and white Rhinos. Also the rare species of giraffe known as the Rothschild amongst others. Dinner & Overnight: L. Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge

Day 3: Proceed to Kisumu City 
After breakfast drive to Kisumu City arriving in time for lunch. Check in your hotel situated on the shores of Lake Victoria the second largest fresh water lake in the World and shared between the 3 East African Countries. This Lake is also the source of River Nile. Lunch at a local restaurant to taste the local dishes of this region.In the afternoon a chance to visit the Kisumu museum and shopping in the local market. Dinner and Overnight: Sunset Hotel

Day 4: Discover the Home of  Obama Senior
After breakfast you will visit Kogelo the home village of President Barrack Obama.
Guided by a relative of the Obamas, explore the village and discover this family's roots with a visit the Obama household. Later, take a short walk to Nyangoma to call in at Senator Obama High School, stopping by local farms along the way. Experience local hospitality and sample traditional cuisine when the community prepares a hearty lunch - a great opportunity to chat to the locals and hear how this once little-known area is now an important part of world history. Dinner and Overnight: Sunset Hotel

Day 5: Drive to Maasai Mara
After breakfast drive to Maasai Mara via bomet arriving in your lodge in time for lunch. Maasai Mara is world famous for the annual migration of the wildebeeste. Also many National Geographical Documentaries have been recorded from this park. Animals to be seen here include the big five, zebras, giraffes, topi, kongoni amongst many species of wild life. Dinner and Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Day 6:- Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve
Morning game drive in the game- filled plains of Mara. This reserve gives your the opportunities to view the big five [Lion,buffalo,leopard,elephant and rhino] as well as hippo, and abundance of the plain games. Overnight stay in your lodge. Keekorok Safari Lodge. This after you will be taken on a 1-2 hour walking safari through the savanna for wildlife viewing with the Maasai as guides and interpreters of their lands whereby you will walk amongst giraffe, impala, zebra and wildebeest. Dinner and Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Day 8:- Back to Nairobi and Depart
After breakfast, say 'Kwaheri' - a Swahili word for bye to Masai Mara and leisurely drive back to Nairobi, arriving at around mid-day. Before departure you will have time to discuss the success of your trip with your tour manager who will award you a certificate to show that you traveled responsibly and touched the hearts of the poor and marginalized communities in Kenya.  Later we transfer you to the airport for your home bound/ departure flight.
